Rimonyx's strategy is to discover and develop orally active, first-in-class medicines for key therapeutic indications via its proprietary drug screening technology. The Company’s objective is to generate a strong patent portfolio protecting the full drug discovery and development process, from target to therapy. Rimonyx's lead program constitutes the development of novel anti-inflammatory compounds for the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. The market size for these two indications are $8 billion and $1.2 billion per annum, respectively.
Rimonyx intends to enter strategic alliances with leading pharmaceutical corporations to leverage its lead compounds and associated platform technology. The Company expects to earn near-term revenues from the corporate deals on its products and/or technologies in the form of R&D payments and licensing fees and later term revenues in the form of milestone payments and royalties on sales of resultant products. As the Company grows, Rimonyx plans to assume more clinical development responsibilities, up to Phase II clinical validation, prior to seeking to license its products.
